Inside the 32nd Vis Moot Problem: Procedural and Applicable Law Issues

On 27 February 2025, AA40 co-organised with ArbIt (the Italian Forum for Arbitration and ADR) the conference “Inside the 32nd Vis Moot Problem: Procedural and Applicable Law Issues”, on the occasion of the official opening of the X edition of the AIA-CAM Pre-Moot. The event was supported by the Italian Association for Arbitration (AIA) and the Milan Chamber of Arbitration (CAM), and it was hosted by UNIDROIT in its beautiful Library.

The conference featured an insightful discussion between Tobia Cantelmo (Senior Legal Counsel, ENI), Eleonora Ebau (Case Manager, CAM; Post Doctoral Researcher, Università di Torino) and Vanda Kopic (Senior Associate, BonelliErede), who were moderated by Raquel Macedo Moreira (Independent Practitioner & Arbitrator; Research Associate, King’s College). Drawing on their experience as in-house counsel, institutional representative and practicing lawyer, the panellists explored the intricacies and strategic decisions connected to multi-tier dispute resolution clauses, the multiple approaches to legal privilege, and the practical considerations involved in assessing the applicability of the CISG. Our Miriam Zari (Co-Chair, AA40; Associate, Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP) and Michelangelo Cicogna (Co-Chair, ArbIt; Partner, De Berti Jacchia) gave the introductory remarks.
